geeking out: 2014 Pantone color of the year, Radiant Orchid

With the new year now well underway, there are all sorts of inspiring images and blog posts surfacing wherein the main event is Pantone’s new color of the year: Radiant Orchid 18-32224. It’s a rich, vibrant, feminine color that’s bound to appear in many a fashion or decor collection in 2014.

Design, cosmetics, art, even superheroes and other fictional characters. And, of course, actual orchids. We’re seeing this color everywhere and are not complaining about it one bit.

At this point, I’m really energized by it and can’t wait to make some Radiant Orchid art and handmade jewelry for my Etsy shop. It’s going to be a challenge, as I typically work in reds and teal/turquoise, but many of my designs will probably work well in the magenta hue. We’ll see how that goes.
